Tablica 9 ze słynnego dzieła Emanuela Sweerta „Florilegium ... Tractans de variis floribus et indicis plantis as vivum delineatum...”, wydanego po raz pierwszy we Frankfurcie w 1612 r. Sweert (1552-1612) był holenderskim kupcem i hodowcą kwiatów, pracującym w Wiedniu dla cesarza Rudolfa II. Wydawnictwo, zawierające wizerunki ponad 500 kwiatów, było rodzajem oferty handlowej przygotowanej na targi we Frankfurcie. Wiek XVII to okres wspaniałego rozwoju ogrodnictwa oraz handlu cebulkami i nasionami, sprowadzanymi do Europy z rozwijających się kolonii. Holandia stała się wówczas wiodącym ośrodkiem handlu kwiatami, a wybrane cebulki osiągały zawrotne ceny. Katalog Sweerta zyskał dużą popularność i doczekał się kilku wydań jeszcze w XVII w. Trzy strony albumu poświęcono tulipanom – ryciny te znajdują się m.in. w amsterdamskim Muzeum Tulipanów. Drobne zabrudzenia, poza tym stan dobry. Bardzo dekoracyjne. Patrz poz. następne.
